BENGALURU: The main accused in the Soladevanahalli attack case, Hemant, has three similar cases of assault and has now been booked in a fourth case.

A gang of 8-10 members kidnapped a youth named Kushal, stripped him naked, and brutally assaulted him in Soladevanahalli a few days ago. The police have arrested eight accused and registered a case.

The accused were granted bail, after they cited upcoming exams, but it has now come to light that they were not even allowed to take the exams by the college administration due to their poor attendance and were not given hall tickets. The police have approached the court seeking cancellation of their bail, stating that the accused had obtained bail by misrepresenting facts.

Meanwhile, the police have also arrested the main accused, Hemant, who had planned the kidnapping and assault.  He was arrested in Tumakuru while trying to escape and is currently in jail.

Hemant had previously been involved in three similar cases of assault and has now been booked in a fourth case. Three FIRs have been registered against him. One case was registered in 2023 and second in 2024.

The police are seeking to cancel the bail of the other accused, citing their lack of eligibility to take the exams and their misrepresentation of facts in court.
