HUBBALLI: A fitness trainer, has been accused of sexually assaulting a young woman who attended his gym in Hubballi in what is being claimed to be a case of ‘love jihad’.
The woman filed a complaint with the police on Friday night alleging that Sameer Mulla had befriended her, offered her a drink laced with a sedative, and then sexually assaulted her. He allegedly recorded the incident and threatened to share the video online if she told anyone.
The police have registered a case against Sameer under Sections 376 (rape), 351 (criminal intimidation), and 123 (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. The woman has undergone medical examination at KIMS hospital.
Further investigation revealed that Sameer had been targeting Hindu women, befriending them at the gym, and exploiting them. His mobile phone contained incriminating videos and WhatsApp chats with several women. He allegedly used to give abortion pills to the victims and forced them to take them.
In a related development, Sameer has filed a complaint against unknown persons, alleging that he was abducted and beaten up by a group of people. However, the police are investigating the matter, and Sameer has denied the allegations of sexual assault, claiming that the victim is making false accusations under pressure from her family and society.
He claimed that the victim was the one who made videos of him and is now trying to frame him.The police have seized Sameer’s mobile phone as evidence. Sameer has been arrested and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. The police are investigating allegations that Sameer has been targeting Hindu women and using his position as a fitness trainer to lure them into his trap.
