Lorry laden with pipes overturns near Nelamangala, traffic hit on highway

BENGALURU: A lorry carrying iron pipes overturned on the National Highway, leaving the pipes scattered all over the road. The incident occurred near Budihal Gate in Nelamangala taluk on the Bengaluru route early on Monday morning.

Overspeeding and negligence by the lorry driver caused the accident which occurred around 3 am on Monday. The Tumakuru-Bengaluru National Highway is prone to traffic congestion. The overturned truck was loaded with iron pipes, which were scattered all over the road, causing a massive traffic jam.

The traffic police later cleared the road with the help of excavators to move the fallen pipes and the lorry to restore traffic flow.
