The ‘Kannada Manasugalu’ group has prepared to create a new record by marching with a 10,000-foot-long flag in Belagavi where issues like the language row and border row keep cropping every now and then. The team has collaborated with local organisations and taken permission from the district administration for the record attempt.

On the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava, the Kannada flag, which will be about 3 km long, will be displayed along with cultural groups from Chennamma Circle. The flag will reach Belagavi on Monday evening from Bengaluru. Earlier, the group had also displayed a 2-km-long flag.

Naveen Singh, a member of the Kannada Manasugalu group.

“We are marching with a 10,000-foot-long Kannada flag in Belagavi. We are proud to display our flag, and our attempt will be registered in the London Book of Records. We will start the display of the flag around 8 am and we are hoping to finish the march by 1 pm on Kannada Rajyotsava Day. Cultural groups and tableaux will be tagging along with us while displaying the flag. This is a historic moment as we are displaying our flag which is about 3 km long. Earlier, in 2017, we had dispalyed a 7,000-foot-long flag in the city. Local organisations and other cultural groups in the district have collaborated with us”, said Naveen Singh of the Kannada Manasugalu group.
