The elephant was spotted atop the steep hill.

HASSAN: A lone elephant was spotted atop the historical Parvathamma Hills near Daitapura village in Alur taluk on Monday. The climb to the hill is quite steep and locals were surprised how the elephant got to the top.

A temple of Mallikarjuna Swamy and Shiva-Parvithi is atop the hill and is frequented by many devotees and tourists. The hill is surrounded by reserve forests and many elephants can be found there.

Upon receiving information, the Forest Department staff visited the spot and have cautioned devotees and tourists to be careful.
