BIDAR: The Lokayukta police raided the office of Thorana gram panchayat development officer at Kamalanagar on Monday.
The PDO Prabhudas was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 for GPS mapping of Ashraya houses. A computer operator and the Taluk Nodal officer were also detained for further investigation.
Earlier, the PDO demanded Rs 5,000 for the same and the complainant had given an advance of Rs 2,000. He was caught when he was receiving the remainder of the amount.
Ambika, a resident of the village, had lodged a complaint against PDO Prabhudas for seeking a bribe. Based on her complaint, the Lokayukta police raided the panchayat office and trapped the official.
