Lokayukta police raids officials across state over disproportionate assets

BENGALURU: The Lokayukta police on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids across the state and seized incriminating documents related to disproportionate assets of officials.

In Bengaluru, the Lokayukta police raided the residence of Ramesh, Bescom director-technical at Basaveshwaranagar, and T V Narayanappa, deputy director, industries and boilers, at Vijayanagar.

Chincholikar’s farm house was among the locations raided.

The Bidar and Kalaburagi residences of KRIDL executive engineer Jhanappa Chincholikar and his farm house at Muttangi village in Humnabad taluk were also raided by the Lokayukta police. Chincholikar is currently posted in Koppal. His office was also raided.

A farm house belonging to Nanjangud senior sub-registrar Shivashankar Murthy was raided at Ajjipura village in anur taluk of Chamarajanagar district.

Nirmiti Kendra engineer Vageesh Shettar’s house in Ranebennur, Mysuru City Corporation official Mahesh Kumar residence at Nivedita Nagar and his farm house were among other locations raided.

A large amount of cash and jewellery and several pairs of footwear were found during the raid on an official’s house in Shivamogga.

In Shivamogga, the Lokayukta police raided eight places including the residences of Upper Tunga executive engineer Prashanth Kumar and Shikaripura panchayat raj engineer Shankar Naik. Shankar Naik’s farm house was also raided.

In Tumakuru, the Lokayukta police raided the residence of KIADB official Narasimha Murthy and seized documents.
