BENGALURU: The Lokayukta police on Saturday conducted raids on officials in different parts of the state in connection with disproportionate assets cases. The raids were conducted in Belagavi, Belagavi, Bagalkot, Ballari, Davanagere, Udupi, Gadag and Dharwad.
In Belagavi, the house and office of Siddalingappa Banasi, district manager of the Devaraj Urs Develpment Corporation was raided Belagavi and Bekkeri village in Raibagh taluk, while in Bagalkot, searches were conducted at the residence and office of Shaila Subhash Tatrani, first division assistant in the rural development department of the Panchayat Raj department.
In Ballari and Kalaburagi, searches were conducted at the house and office of PWD superintendent engineer Ameen Mukhtar Ahmed while the Davanagere and Haveri residences of Shiggaon panchayat PDO Ramakrishna Gudageri were also raided.
Other officials raided include Girish Rao, an accountant with Mescom at Karkala, Nirmiti Kendra officer Gangadhar Shirol in Gadag and his relative S S Shettar’s house in Hoovina Hadagali, and PWD chief engineer H Suresh in Dharwad.
The officials uncovered documents related various immovable properties, cash, gold an silver articles and further investigation is under way.
