Lokayukta police nab CESC engineer while taking bribe for setting up EV charging station

MADIKERI: The Lokayukta police arrested CESC Assistant Executive Engineer Ashok on Thursday night while he was receiving a bribe of Rs 2 lakh for providing a 49 kV connection.

One Pratap had applied to set up a EV charging station at Kushalanagar in Kodagu district. The accused Ashok had allegedly demanded Rs 5 lakh for providing power connection of 49 kV capacity and had demanded Rs 2 lakh as first instalment.

Lokayukta Mysuru Division Superintendent of Police Suresh Babu said the accused was arrested while he was receiving the bribe. Lokayukta Madikeri DySP Pawan Kumar, Inspectors Lokesh, Manjunath were part of the team.
