BENGALURU: In a major relief for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family members in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment issue, the Lokayukta police on Wednesday filed a B report in the case before the special court for elected representatives, giving him and the other accused a clean chit. In fact, the Lokayukta police, in the report, have mentioned that the CM and his family are themselves victims in the case.
While holding former MUDA commissioner Natesh solely responsible for the irregularities in the site allotment, the report said that Devaraj, the original owner of the plot of land in Kesare, had not disclosed to Siddaramaiah’s brother-in-law Mallikarjun that it had acquired by MUDA, when the latter purchased it. Later on, Natesh completely disregarded rules in the allotment of sites, the report said.
The report said that Siddaramaiah did not bear any influence during the purchase of the land or while gifting it to his wife Parvathi B M, or misuse office. During the purchase of the 3 acres and 26 guntas of land in 2004 for Rs 5.95 lakh, or while gifting it to Parvathi in 2010, there were no legal obstacles and all rules were followed, it said.

Further, it said Parvathi did not seek alternative sites at any particular location and that some documentation was done by MUDA without her knowledge. Natesh was involved in irregularities in distribution of several other sites also and further investigation is necessary. The Lokayukta police report has also completely rejected the Enforcement Directorate charges on misuse of office by Siddaramaiah, forging of Parvathi’s signature, among others.
