BENGALURU: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Sunday lashed out at RR Nagar MLA Muniratna Naidu and said, “The local MLA has no patience. He came here to disrupt the programme. It’s people’s fault for electing such people. They should try to correct it in the future”.

After Muniratna created a ruckus at the ‘Walk For Bengaluru’ campaign at JP Park earlier in the day, the deputy chief minister invited him to the stage, but disrespected the RSS uniform, calling it ‘Kari Topi.’

DK Shivakumar said, “This is not a programme to lay foundation stones for government projects. It is a programme to listen to people’s problems. We have given respect to everyone, and we will continue to do so”.

He accused Muniratna of bringing disrespect to the RSS, saying, “RSS has a history, and they know what they are doing. But some people are trying to tarnish its image. Muniratna didn’t attend the GBA meeting and didn’t raise his issues there. Instead, he comes here and speaks like this”.

Shivakumar added, “I have invited everyone to walk with the people of Bengaluru. I have been walking for two hours, listening to people’s problems, and taking their phone numbers to resolve their issues. Others can call 1533 and share their problems”.

Regarding pending bills to contractors, Shivakumar said, “I have been told that some officials are demanding commissions to clear contractors’ bills. I assure you that all issues, including the problems with the swimming pool, track, and toilets in JP Park, will be resolved. We will also address issues with rainwater, roads and other public problems.” He emphasized, “The government’s role is to listen to the public’s voice and respond to their issues”.
