Leopard scare around B’luru; residents and schoolchildren anxious

BENGALURU: Sightings of leopards have been reported from some parts of the city, creating panic among residents. According to eyewitnesses, a leopard hunted a deer at Kodipalya in Kengeri on Thursday.

Residents are anxious after seeing the dead deer near the rear gate of the BGS hospital. Locals said that 15 days ago, the leopard had hunted a cow, and they had informed the Forest Department. Locals claim that there are four leopards in the area. The Forest Department is conducting an operation to catch them and has set up a trap.

Locals spoke to media following the leopard’s appearance near Kengeri.

“School children walk on this road, and many people use it as it connects to the main road easily. Everyone is anxious after the appearance of the leopard. We suspect that more than four leopards are in the area”, said local residents.
