CHAMARAJANAGAR: A leopard attacked and killed a cow at Chamalapur village in Yelandur taluk on Sunday. The cow belonged to Siddappa Shetty. The incident has created panic among the villagers, who are demanding that the authorities capture the leopard.
Meanwhile, wild elephants are causing havoc by destroying crops at Manchahalli village in Gundlupet taluk. The wild elephants, which have entered the village from the Bandipur Omkara zone, are causing significant damage to crops, including banana and vegetable plantations.
Despite informing the Forest department, no action has been taken to mitigate the issue, local said. The villagers are demanding that a railway barricade be installed to prevent the wild elephants from entering the village. The elephants’ attacks have left the villagers worried and seeking immediate action from the authorities.
