CHIKKAMAGALUR: A leopard got caught in a snare laid for wild boars by hunters on the Kottigehara-Balur main road. The snare had been set up illegally near a coffee estate.
The Forest Department officials from Mudigere rushed to the spot on Friday morning upon receiving information. Veterinarians had been summoned from Shivamogga to tranquilise the animal and rescue it.
