CHIKKAMAGALUR: A domestic dispute involving a police sub-inspector may have led to accidentally uncovering a question paper leak for the police sub-inspector (PSI) exam, if an audio clip which is doing the rounds in Chikkamagalur is anything to go by.
In the audio clip, Nityananda Gowda, a PSI formerly posted in Kalasa taluk, is believed to be heard speaking to a woman who worked at the printing press where the question papers were printed. She can be heard saying she is worried about a case being registered or an inquiry being ordered. The audio recording of the woman talking to Nityanandagouda has gone viral, sparking further controversy.
The woman, who allegedly gave the question paper to Nityananda Gowda can be heard expressing her worry about the potential consequences of the investigation, including damage to her reputation. To this, Nityananda Gowda can be heard suggesting that she should claim that she didn’t know the question paper was being printed and didn’t give it to anyone. “The printing press people won’t open their mouths as they may lose business. If they make up their mind, they can even deny that you worked at the press”, the police officer is heard saying.
Following the leak of the audio clip, Rafeeq, a former member of the taluk panchayat, has filed a complaint with the Chikkamagaluru Superintendent of Police, alleging that Nityananda Gowda may have used the leaked question paper to pass the exam. He has also demanded that the PSI be kept under suspension till the pendency of the inquiry.
