BELAGAVI: Railway services were delayed between Belagavi and Goa for four hours due to rocks and boulders falling on the railway track near Dudhsagar on Sunday evening. However, no casualties were reported.
The Dudhsagar Falls is located on the Karnataka-Goa border and landslips are being reported due to incessant rains in the Western Ghats region.
The Goa fire services staff and railway police struggled to clear mud and rocks from the railway track. A large number of tourists and trekkers had flocked to see Dudhsagar Falls yesterday.
Fortunately, a huge disaster was averted, and trains resumed operations after 10 pm.
