BENGALURU: The construction of the Ejipura flyover in the southern part of Bengaluru is running behind schedule, causing traffic congestion in Koramangala area. Despite two-three months into the project after it was restarted, the construction is yet to be completed. The delay has led to disappointment among road users.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is facing criticism for not providing a clear timeline for the project’s completion. According to the BBMP, land acquisition is still under way, and the project is expected to be completed only by June next year.

The flyover was initially expected to be completed two to three years ago, but tender issues have delayed the project. The BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao, has stated that the project will be completed by June next year once the land acquisition process is finalised.

“There were concerns about the quality of construction after cement fell from the flyover, but an IISc test found the structure to be sound and provided suggestions for improvement in line with norms”, he added.
