RAMANAGARA: Former chief minister and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy has predicted that Assembly election will be held again next year. “I have never seen such a bad government. This government will fall due to internal strife and Assembly elections will be held in the state again in 2024”, he said.
Addressing a meeting of JD(S) leaders held at his farmhouse in Bidadi, Kumaraswamy said, “I got cheated by them after joining hands with D K Shivakumar publicly calling it ‘Jodethu’ (pair of bullocks), but I was not aware of it. I just believed it blindly and reposed my trust in them. Then they ditched me midway and fled with the ox and cart. The government collapsed in 2018 because of D K Shivakumar and not me. Did I and Ramesh Jarakiholi have any enmity? I became a victim of the Belagavi DCC Bank politics. Why did he (Shivakumar) get into Belagavi politics? He started a campaign to get sympathy by shedding tears, showing that he made an honest effort to save my government”.
To questions from JD(S) leaders of Kanakapura constituency, Kumaraswamy said, “I slit my throat believing in them and I cut your throats too. They did injustice to me and the people of Kanakapura. It is my responsibility to correct the injustice”.
Kumaraswamy also lashed out at Deputy CM Shivakumar and said many people who have shown their arrogance have gone. “In Bengaluru Rural Lok Sabha constituency, the alliance candidate should win by margin of 2-3 lakh votes. For that, we all have to put in efforts and work sincerely. Through this alliance, we should send a good message to the entire state and country. Let us all work with faith, trust and honesty. We should work together, no matter who the alliance candidate is”, he said.
“If we had done the same thing when Nikhil was cheated in Mandya Lok Sabha election last time, the story of that person (D K Suresh) would have ended there. We followed the alliance dharma, and yet they cheated us”, he added.
“I have never seen such a bad government. This government will collapse due to internal clashes and Assembly elections will be held in the state in 2024 for sure. I doubt that person will be a candidate for that election, I know what will happen. I will never compromise with DK Shivakumar in my life. I am still suffering because I formed the government with him. He once went to Tihar Jail and it would be no surprise if he goes there again permanently. The days of D K Shivkumar returning to Tihar Jail are quite near”, Kumaraswamy taunted.
