HAVERI: A KSRTC bus conductor committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on the premises of the bus depot at Ranebennur in the district.
The deceased has been identified as Mallikarjuna Badigera (49), a driver-cum-conductor. He was a resident of Davalagi village in Muddebihal taluk of Vijayapura district and was working at the Ranebennur depot in Haveri district for the last ten years.
Mallikarjuna had undergone a angiogram two years ago. It is said that he was absent from duty for the last one week. But the exact reason of taking extreme step is yet to be known. The Halageri police visited the spot and registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
