HASSAN: A KSRTC ticket inspector from the Hassan division vigilance squad was killed on the spot after a goods vehicle knocked him down while he was heading to check passengers’ tickets on a bus near Palya in Alur taluk on Saturday.
Shakuni Gowda (57), the ticket inspector, was crossing the road to check tickets on a bus plying between Nalluru and Magge on National Highway-75 when the accident occurred. The good vehicle, which was speeding, hit Gowda, killing him instantly.
The driver of the goods vehicle fled the scene with the vehicle. The Alur police visited the spot and are investigating the case while also launching a search for the killer vehicle and its driver.
