CHIKKAMAGALURU: A KSRTC staffer stabbed the Divisional Controller with a knife at the KSRTC bus station in the town over the issue of transfer. The accused, junior assistant Ritesh, was angry with the DC for calling his family members and counseling them regarding his transfer.
He stabbed the Divisional Controller with a knife when he was leaving for home after work. Ritesh stopped Jagadish Kumar when the latter was getting into a car, and tried to stab him, but Jagadish escaped with minor injuries on his hand. Ritesh is now absconding.
Ritesh had been transferred from Chikkamagaluru to Belur due to irregular attendance. The divisional controller had called Ritesh’s family members and counseled them, which Ritesh felt was humiliating.
A case has been registered at the Chikkamagaluru town police station.
