BENGALURU: Following the petrol and diesel prices hike, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has submitted a proposal to the state government to increase bus fares by 15 to 20 per cent. The proposal was submitted on July 14.

Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy responded to this saying that the proposal has been received, but no decision has been taken yet to increase the bus fare.

Earlier, while speaking at a protest, Ramalinga Reddy said that the BJP is being unfair to the state. “Since the BJP returned to power at the centre, they have been unfair to the state. The state is constantly being cheated. Even though Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was elected from Karnataka, there is no gratitude. Narendra Modi has forgotten what he said 10 years ago”, Reddy said.

The minister lamented that it is unfortunate that Narendra Modi has not done anything for the state despite 19 MPs being elected from the alliance.

He further said, “They have imposed GST on everything except air and light. They have looted the country’s wealth. They have allowed looting through Ambani. The BJP is selling the country’s assets. Many states have not received funds in the budget whereas more funds have been allocated to Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. The central government will not last long. The BJP government is dangerous for the state”.

Reddy alleged that under PM Modi, the country has accumulated debt of over Rs 140 lakh crore. “As long as the BJP is in power, we have no future. The unemployment problem in the country is increasing. The BJP is not grateful to the state’s people even after giving 19 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. The state’s MPs do not even have the power to speak about this issue”, he said.
