KSRTC driver, conductor refuse to ply to village, abandon bus after villagers take them to task

The driver and conductor allegedly refused to ply to a village and abandoned the bus.

MANDYA: Villagers and passengers of a KSRTC bus vented their anger at the transport corporation after the driver and conductor abandoned the vehicle after refusing to ply to a village in KR Pet taluk on Thursday. Some school students were also among the passengers.

The bus was plying from KR Pet to Aichanahalli and had about eight passengers at that time. However, the driver stopped the bus at Bookanakere claiming that he could not take the vehicle to Aichanahalli for just eight passengers and allegedly asked them to walk to the village.

When the passengers insisted that the bus run to Aichanahalli, the driver and conductor allegedly abused them in foul language and tried to take them back to KR Pet. On receiving information, other villagers stopped the bus at Bommegowdana Koppalu and took the driver and conductor to task. Following this, the driver Manu and conductor Prabhakar abandoned the bus at Bommegowdana Koppalu and left the scene.

Later, a KSRTC official visited the spot, but was taken to task by the villagers who demanded that the bus driver and conductor be suspended. The incident occurred in KR Pet Rural police limits.
