BENGALURU: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses will henceforth stop for breaks only at designated hotels and will not allowed to stop anywhere else. The bus driver and conductor will be fined heavily if they do not follow the norms.
Until now, bus drivers had the freedom to choose dhabas or hotels where they could break journey. However, passengers were facing problems with no proper toilet facilities and KSRTC had received numerous complaints from passengers about the lack of facilities where buses stop for a break. Therefore, the corporation has issued new guidelines after taking this issue seriously.
Also, the corporation has formed a team to check cleanliness and food quality at the designated hotels. Information about the designated hotels and places will be mentioned in the ticket itself. The KSRTC will also take disciplinary action against drivers if they violated the norms.
