KSRTC bus driver attempts suicide over harassement by higher-up, hospitalised

CHIKKAMAGALUR: A KSRTC bus driver attempted suicide by consuming poison at the Kadur depot after alleging harassment by his senior. He is since recovering at a private hospital in Shivamogga.

Driver Chandru, in a death note, alleged that assistant traffic supervisor Puttaswamy had marked him absent from work when he took leave due to illness and claimed that he had adquate number of leaves. He further alleged that the ATS grants leave upon paying bribes and sought an end to the harassment of employees.

Chandru has since been admitted to Max Hospital in Shivamogga. The Kadur police have registered a case and are investigating further.
