BENGALURU: The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) administration had informed the chief secretary of the state about their plan to hold a ceremony in the event RCB wins the IPL finals. The administration had mentioned this in a letter dated June 3, which was then sent to the jurisdictional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
Interestingly, the KSCA letter mentioned that the Chief Minister and Deputy CM would felicitate the RCB players and support staff, even though the CM had not been consulted by then. The CM was informed about the programme at 9.30 am on 4. It is said that the CM’s political secretary had fixed the programme without the CM’s knowledge.
After an FIR was filed on Thursday, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has approached the High Court, seeking to quash it. The association has filed a petition before Justice Krishnakumar’s bench, requesting an urgent hearing. The petition has been filed by KSCA president Raghuram Bhat, Secretary A Shankar and Treasurer E S Jairam, seeking relief from the High Court.
