Krishna Janmabhoomi case: Mathura court allows lawsuit against Shahi Idgah mosque

MATHURA (UP): A local court in Mathura has allowed a petition demanding removal of the Shahi Idgah mosque.

On May 13, a petition was filed in the Mathura court seeking videographic survey of the Shahi Idgah mosque in the region. The Shahi Idgah mosque is located next to the Krishna Janmabhoomi, believed to be the birthplace of Hindu deity Krishna.

Certain Hindu groups have contended that the Shahi Idgah mosque in Mathura stands on the purported birthplace of Lord Krishna. Earlier too, there have been demands for demolition of the mosque.
