MYSURU: Krishnaraja Nagar MLA Ravishankar got embroiled in a controversy after he allegedly physically assaulted a a person who approached him with a grievance. However, he later clarified that he only tapped the man on the back.

Ravishankar allegedly raised his hand in anger when a person tried to tell him about their problem during a public meeting to address grievances. The incident has drawn criticism, with many questioning the MLA’s behavior. The opposition has also seized the opportunity to criticize the MLA and the ruling Congress party.

The man also denied that he was assaulted by the MLA and claimed that it was a needless controversy.

However, the MLA clarified that he did not assault anyone during a public meeting. He stated that he was trying to get the individual’s attention by tapping them on the back and asking him to come closer, but it was misinterpreted as an assault.

Ravishankar claimed that he was familiar with the person and was discussing something with him, but the surroundings were noisy, and he had to tap the person on the back to get their attention. He denied any wrongdoing and stated that the allegations against him were baseless and part of a smear campaign.

The MLA further alleged that the opposition was trying to create a controversy due to his development work in the constituency, and he claimed that he would not indulge in such behavior.
