KOLAR: The district police have registered 43 cases of overspeeding on the Bengaluru-Chennai expressway in just four days and collected fines amounting to Rs 43,000. The police are keeping strict vigil to prevent accidents.

The police in Bangarpet, Bethamangala and BEML Nagar are using speed radar guns to check for overspeeding and are registering cases under the Motor Vehicles Act.

The move comes in the wake of a series of accidents on the highway. The crackdown on speeding comes in the wake of KGF Police Superintendent Shantaraju.
