BENGALURU: Animal husbandry Minister K Venkatesh on Tuesday announced that KMF’s Nandini brand has created a new record by selling 1,100 metric tons of sweet products during the Dasara and Deepavali festivals.
Speaking at the Vidhana Soudha, he said that every year, there is a high demand for sweets across the state during these festivals. KMF had made advance preparations to produce and sell over 40 varieties of sweet products under the Nandini brand. Considering the increased demand for the 2025 festival season, a target of 1,000 metric tons was set, and the goal was exceeded, with KMF and its member milk unions selling 1,100 metric tons of sweet products, achieving a record turnover of Rs 46 crore.
This represents a 38 per cent increase in turnover compared to the previous year, which is a record in KMF’s history. Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has been a leading player in the dairy and cooperative sector for the past five decades, collecting an average of 1 crore liters of milk daily from dairy farmers across the state, and supplying around 65 lakh liters of milk, curd, and UHT milk products to consumers in the state and outside.
Under the Nandini brand, over 175 varieties of milk and milk products, including ghee, butter, paneer, sweets, milk powder, and beverages, are being successfully marketed in Karnataka, neighboring states, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala and Delhi, Assam and other markets.
He said that the purity, quality and affordable price of milk and milk products have made the “Nandini” brand a symbol of consumer trust and are also a testament to the hard work and cooperative strength of the milk producers of the state.
