MYSURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be presented with a red Kempegowda peta, studded with pearls, when he arrives in Bengaluru on November 11 to inaugurate the 108-foot-tall Kempegowda statue at the Kempegowda International Airport.
The peta, made using Benaras silk and pearls, has been fashioned in traditional Mysuru style and will be presented by the Namooru Nammavaru Seva Trust.
The trust members, along with the Kempegowda Abhimanigala Balaga, are already in talks with Higher Education Minister Dr C S Ashwath Narayan to present the peta to the PM.
“We had a desire to present something special to the PM on behalf of Mysuru. This peta resembles the one on the statue. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Minister Ashwath Narayan have assured us that it will be presented to the PM as per protocol”, the trust members said.
