BENGALURU: The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has successfully used QR code system to monitor the conduct of the recent Common Entrance Test (CET) and is now planning to extend this technology to the college admission process to prevent seat blocking.
For the first time, KEA will conduct the admission process digitally, using QR code to prevent seat blocking and other irregularities and ensure transparency.
Here’s how the QR code system will work in college admissions:
- Each seat allocated by KEA will be monitored.
- After seat allocation, KEA will provide documentation to the student.
- The student will then visit the allotted college for admission.
- During admission, the college will use an app provided by KEA to scan the student’s QR code.
- Upon scanning, the student’s complete information will be sent to KEA, verifying the student’s identity and ensuring that the seat is being allocated to the same student.
- This system will help prevent irregularities and ensure that seats are allocated to genuine students who have taken the CET.
By implementing this QR code system, the KEA aims to streamline the admission process and make it more transparent and secure.
