BENGALURU: The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has issued a show-cause notice to 2,348 students who failed to report to their respective engineering colleges after paying fees and securing seats in the second round of UG CET-2024 counselling.
The students, who were allotted seats in various colleges, including prestigious ones, failed to report on Wednesday. “This is really an injustice to other meritorious students who were deprived of seats”, said KEA Executive Director H Prasanna.
The notice was sent to the students’ registered email IDs, requiring them to justify their absence within three days. If they fail to respond, the KEA will take legal action.
The students have been categorized into three groups: those who didn’t pay fees, those who paid fees, but didn’t download admission slips, and those who paid half fees. The KEA said it will assess the students’ responses before taking further legal action.
A total of 2,208 students have not paid the fees despite seat allocation in various colleges. Ninety five have paid the fees, but have not downloaded the admit card and not appeared at the colleges. Forty five students have paid a small amount of fee. H Prasanna informed that notices has been served to all these students.
