BENGALURU: The results of the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), which was held from May 20 to 22, were announced by Higher Education Minister Dr M C Sudhakar today. A total of 2.5 lakh students had appeared for the test which is conducted for admission to professional courses.
In the engineering stream, the top three rankers are Vignesh Nataraj Kumar of Sri Kumaran’s, Mallasandra, Arjun Krishnaswamy of RV College, Jayanagar and Samrudh Shetty of Vidyaniketan PU Science College, Hubballi.
In the BNYS (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Science) stream, Pratheeksha R of Sri Kumaran’s Children’s Home Composite PU College, Padmanabhanagar, Bengaluru, Byresh S H of Expert PU College, Mangaluru and Srijan M H of Base PU College, Hubballi are the top three scorers.
The top three rankers in the BSc Agriculture stream are Byresh S H of Expert PU College, Mangaluru, Anurag Ranjan of Pramana PU College, Raichur and Karthik Manohar Simhasan of Lady Anusuya Singhania Educational Academy, Jhalawar, Rajasthan.
In the BVSc (veterinary science) stream, Malavika Kapoor of Mahesh PU College, Chamarajpet, Bengaluru, Pratheeksha R of Sri Kumaran’s Children’s Home Composite PU College, Padmanabhanagar, Bengaluru and Chandan Gowda C N of Mahesh PU College, Chamarajpet, Bengaluru were the top three rankers.
Pratheeksha R and Malavika Kapoor also topped the list of rank holder in the B Pharma (pharmacy) and Pharm D streams. The third spot was taken by Madhav Soorya Tadepalli of Narayana E-Techno School, Marathahalli, Bengaluru.
In the BSc Nursing stream, it was again Malavika Kapoor Pratheeksha R and Chandan Gowda C N.

In engineering, a total of 2,0,3381 students have been awarded ranks, while 1,64,187 have qualified for Agriculture Science, 1,66,756 for Animal Husbandry, 1,66,746 for Naturopathy and Yogic Science, 2,0,6191 for BPharm, 2,06,340 for DPharm, and 1,66,808 in Nursing. One grace mark was awarded each in Mathematics and Physics.
Four students scored the full 60 marks in Mathematics and 138 students in Biology. Among those who scores 55 marks out of 60, there were seven students in Chemistry, 14 in Mathematics and 379 in Biology.
Minister Sudhakar said the KCET fee was raised by 10 per cent under the previous government and there will be no change in that. He also said many students were making mistakes will filling the CET forms and hence, it has been decided to launch a new app to help students with the process.
On the issue of scrapping the National Education Policy (NEP), the minister said expert opinion is being collected and a decision will be taken keeping the interests of students in mind after consultations with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, he said.
