Kasargod doctor’s body found on railway track in Kundapur taluk

UDUPI: The completely mutilated body of a man was recovered from a railway track at Ajji Mane near Hattiangadi village in Kundapur taluk on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Dr Krishnamurthy, a resident of Badiadka in Kasargod district of Kerala.

Dr Krishnamurthy was a dentist who owned a clinic at Badiadka in Kasargod district. On November 8, four people assaulted him after a woman at his clinic accused him of harassment. Upset over this, on the same day he left his behind mobile phone and bike and had gone missing.

The family members alleged that their neighbours were pressuring the dentist to sell his land to them, but he disagreed. Therefore, a false complaint of harassment was filed by the woman, they alleged.

On November 9, an unidentified mutilated body was found on the railway track near Kundapur. On November 10, the doctor’s family members identified the mutilated body.

A case has been registered at the Kundapur police station. The body was sent for post-mortem to Manipal KMC Hospital. The police are investigating further.
