BENGALURU: Karnataka will witness heavy rainfall for four days, most likely from Wednesday, and four districts have been put on high alert. A depression has formed in the Bay of Bengal which will heavy rain to many parts, including the state and Bengaluru.
A weather system has formed in the South Andaman ocean at a height of 5.8 km. The State Meteorological Department had issued a warning stating that heavy rain is likely in some parts of the southern-interior districts till December 8. There is a possibility of rain with thunder on December 8, 9 and 10.
Currently, the weather condition is normal in Bengaluru, but will experience moderate rain and chilly weather till December 8. There will be heavy fog in the morning.
According to Prasad, a meteorologist, “There may be rain with lightning and thunder in and around Bengaluru. Rain will intensify again from December 8 in the southern-interior areas for a few days. A yellow alert has been sounded for southern-interior Karnataka. Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Kodagu and Ramanagara districts will also get heavy downpour on December 9. Some part of northern Karnataka will get moderate rain fall on Tuesday, while dry weather will continue on Wednesday and Thursday. Coastal Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada districts will also experience heavy rainfall over the next three days along with cloudy weather “.
