BENGALURU: In a major setback for JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, the Kranataka High Court has rejected his appeal seeking temporary relief from disqualification as Lok Sabha member in an electoral fraud case.
Prajwal had appealed to the court to issue an interim order to enable him to attend the special session of Parliament and to approach the Supreme Court. However, A bench of Justice K Natarajan, which heard the plea, rejected it.
Senior advocate Uday Holla argued on behalf of Prajwal Revanna, but the complainant in the case, advocate Devaraje Gowda argued that the plea should be rejected. After hearing both sides, the court rejected the appeal.
File criminal cases against SWM norms violators, BBMP told
The high court directed the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike to file criminal cases against those who violate solid waste management norms.
The court issued the direction while hearing PILs on solid waste management. When the court was informed that penalties are being levied on violators, the court directed that criminal cases should be lodged along with levying penalties on repeat offenders.
