BENGALURU: Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra on Monday targeted the Congress and the Gandhi family and accused them of failing to deliver the poll promises in the state.
Speaking during the ‘Mysuru Chalo’ padayatra jointly organised by the BJP and JD(S), Vijayendra hit out at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and alleged that he “ignored” many corruption cases.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) opposition alliance in Karnataka kicked off its 10-day ‘Mysuru Chalo’ padayatra on August 3 from Kengeri near Bengaluru to Mysuru over the alleged MUDA site allotment and Valmiki Corporation scams. It reached Channapatna today.
“Congress party had promised the people of Karnataka that if they come to power they will provide good administration, development and corruption-free government, but this government, led by Siddaramaiah, failed on all fronts. Farmers are suffering and the CM has ignored many corruption cases”, Vijayendra said.
“This CM has become a puppet in the hands of Congress’s high command. Karnataka has become an ATM for the Congress party and the Gandhi family. So we are fighting this and we want this corrupt CM to be removed”, he added.
Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy said, “We have already released all the documents in front of CM Siddaramaiah, he ran away from facing this issue. He can’t face this issue individually. If he is innocent, why is he taking the help of ministers and high command? I am the puppet of Kannadigas, the charges against me (a puppet of BJP) is baseless”.
However, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had earlier slammed BJP’s padayatra over the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam and said that they are trying to make an issue out of a non-issue. (ANI)
