BENGALURU: The Transport Department has extended the deadline for affixing High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) for vehicles older than April 2019, till February next year.
In August this year, the state government had issued an order mandating HSRP for vehicles older than April 2019, by November 17, 2023. However, since the public response has been poor and since there is lack of awareness, the government has now extended the time till February 17, 2024.
The Transport Department has also appealed to owners of vehicles older than April 2019 to get HSRP fixed by February next year.
Vehicle owners will have to visit the website https://www.siam.in/ and click the ‘Book HSRP’ link. They will then have to enter the make of the vehicle with all other details and select a vehicle dealer and date of their choice where they can get the HSRP fixed.
Payment for the HSRP is accepted only online and once the HSRP is ready, the vehicle owner will be notified through SMS and they will have to visit the dealer on the appointed date to get the HSRP fixed.
