BENGALURU: The state Congress plans to lodge a complaint with the Central Election Commission (CEC) regarding the alleged voter data theft.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president D K Shivakumar will leave for New Delhi on Tuesday and submit a petition to the CEC on November 23. He will also attend questioning by the Enforcement Directorate the same day.
Meanwhile, the state BJP unit has sent a detailed report on the issue to the party top brass. Party general secretary Arun Singh, who is in charge of Karnataka, took the report to Delhi which details how the alleged sam broke out, what sort of permissions were given under different regimes, the role of Congress and BJP governments and minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, etc.
The reason for the BJP central leadership seeking a report is that the Congress has threatened to stage protest at a national level and its ripples being felt in the Gujarat elections with the Congress and the AAP raising the issue.
The BJP will be hoping for a quick resolution to the entire issue.
