BENGALURU: The state recorded huge 469 cases of dengue in a single day on Sunday. With this, the total count has now risen to 14,223. Bengaluru alone accounted for 301 fresh cases.
The dengue case count has been rising every day across the state with the most number of cases being reported in the state capital. In 24 hours between Saturday and Sunday, a total of 3,376 people were tested of which dengue was confirmed in 469 cases. Of them, 281 are undergoing treatment at home while 188 are in hospital. Among those in hospital, only three are in the ICU.
The total number of active cases stands at 3,428 of which 2,866 were treated at home and 562 are being treated in hospitals. Fourteen of them are admitted in the ICUs. Of the total, there have been 238 cases where the infected were less than one year old.
Sunday’s case count includes Bengaluru (301), Kalaburagi (20), Udupi (17), Mysuru (15), Ramanagara (14), Dharwad (12), Tumakuru, Chitrdurga and Ballari recording 11 cases each. Since January, the state has recorded 10 dengue deaths including three in Bengaluru, two each in Shivamogga and Hassan and one each in Mysuru, Haveri and Dharwad.
