KALABURAGI: Two men, including a school teacher, have been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting minors in different parts of the district.
A 42-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor at Sulepet in Chincholi taluk. The accused Shivakumar Hadpad alleged lured the minor and sexually assaulted. After a case was registered at the Sulepet police station, he was arrested and sent to judicial custody.
In another incident, Hajimalang, a teacher at a private school in Yadrami, has been accused of sexually assaulting a Class 5 student on Monday evening. He has been booked under the POCSO Act.
Following Hajimalang’s arrest, several organisations gave a bandh call in Yadrami and several people staged a protest. They also trooped to the Yadrami police station and demanded strict action against the accused.
