MUMBAI: Actor Jr NTR won Best Actor award at South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) for his powerful performance in ‘RRR’. The award ceremony took place in Dubai on Friday night.
While receiving the trophy, Jr NTR expressed gratitude to his fans and whole ‘RRR’ team.
He said, “I would love to thank my co-star, my brother, my friend Charan for standing beside me as a pillar of support for RRR. Last but not least I would love to thank all my fans. I bow down to my fans who have always been with me through my ups and downs. You have been my pillar of support at all times. You people shed a tear along with me whenever I was in pain and smiled in unison with me when I am happy”.
‘RRR’ is a fictional story based on the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Ram Charan and Jr NTR played lead roles, respectively. The film collected over Rs 1,200 crore worldwide. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran also starred in the film directed by SS Rajamouli.
In the coming months, Jr NTR will be seen headlining Telugu drama ‘Devara’, which will also feature Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor.

Actor Sreeleela secured the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Telugu) award. Mukesh Laxman’s remarkable contribution to Kantara has earned him the Special Appreciation Award at SIIMA 2023.
There was a huge round of applause for Ram Miriyala for the title song in ‘DJ Tillu’. He has won the Best Playback Singer-Male (Telugu) award
K K Senthil Kumar’s remarkable cinematography in ‘RRR’ won him the Best Cinematographer (Telugu) award. Actor Neetha Ashok took home the Best Debutant Actress (Kannada) award for her exceptional performance in ‘Vikrant Rona’.
M M Keeravani won the Best Music Director (Telugu) award for his music in ‘RRR’. ‘Kantara’ Actor Sapthami Gowda received the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role-Critics Choice for her stellar portrayal in ‘Kantara’.
Srinidhi Shetty receieved Best Actress in a Leading Role (Kannada) for her dazzling performance in ‘KGF Chapter 2’. Actor Mrunal Thakur made an outstanding debut in ‘Sita Ramam’. She has won the Best Debutant Actress (Telugu) Award
Pruthvi Shamanur won the Best Debutant Actor (Kannada) for his debut performance in ‘Padavi Poorva’ while Apeksha Purohit and Pawan Kumar Wadeyar won The Best Debutant Producer (Kannada) award for ‘Dollu’.
Shubha Raksha won the Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Kannada) award for her wonderful performance in ‘Home Minister’ while Sandalwood actor Diganth Manchale won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award for his versatile performance in ‘Gaalipata 2’.
