BENGALURU: With 3,61,122 subscribers, Jio remains the top telecom operator in Karnataka in Fixed Wireless Access. Reliance Jio continues its strong growth trajectory in Karnataka, adding 1.2 lakh new mobile subscribers in April 2025 — the highest among all telecom operators in the state, according to the latest data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
In Karnataka, Jio is reinforcing its leadership in Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), with its Jio AirFiber service emerging as the clear market leader. The number of active Jio AirFiber users in the state rose to 3,61,122 in April, up from 3,38,177 in March 2025. By comparison, Bharti Airtel had 1,23,393 FWA subscribers, a statement said.
Jio is also the only telecom operator with positive active subscriber additions nationwide in April 2025, clocking over 55 lakhs active user additions—marking the second consecutive month with more than 50 lakhs VLR (Visitor Location Register) adds. In contrast, other operators, including Vi and BSNL, saw net subscriber declines.
At the national level, Jio continues to dominate the FWA market with an 82 pc share with over 60,1400 subscribers. April 2025 was also a record-breaking month for overall fixed broadband growth, with approximately 9.10 lakh new customers added across Jio’s wireline and FWA services. This figure is nearly four times higher than Airtel, which added just 2.30 lakh new customers, the statement said.
Nationally, Jio added 26.44 lakh total subscribers during the month, increasing its total user base to over 47.24 crore and leading the mobile segment with a 40.76 pc market share. Airtel followed with 33.65 pc (approx. 39 crore users), while Vodafone Idea had 17.66 pc (20.47 crore users). BSNL and MTNL together held a 7.84 pc share.
Jio’s rapid network expansion, affordable plans, and bundled digital services are reshaping home and enterprise connectivity across Karnataka and the rest of India. With high-speed internet demand rising across urban and rural regions, Jio is playing a pivotal role in bridging the digital divide, the statement said.
