HAVERI:  “One or the other day, the JCBs will roll in Karnataka too and I will reach that position. Those who opposed hoisting our flag today, I will make hoist our flag in the coming days”, BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal lashed out at the ruling party.

Speaking at the  Ganesha festival held in Subhash Circle in Haveri on Wednesday evening, he said people should support Prime Minister Narendra Modi again in the 2024 elections. “The country will be in our hands for the next 25 years. Today, they are striving to hoist the green flag. In the coming days, we will make sure the country has no green flags anywere”, he said.

Launching a stinging attack on some seers for meddling in politics or supporting some political leaders, Yatnal said  they are not working to save Sanatana Dharma or construct educational institutions. “Those who should work to save religion are lobbying to get ministerships and chief minister position for others”, he remarked.

“Some people are getting hurt if India is called Bharat.  Bharat (India) is derived from Bharat (son of Dasharath). India was name given by the British. Are those opposing the Bharat Indians or British? They will feel jealous about hoisting a flag in India. We have hoisted the Tricolour on the Moon. If they have it in them, let them go to the Moon and raise the flag”, Yatnal challenged.

Taunting those live in India and speak in favour of Pakistan, Yatnal said, “You are drinking Indian water and having food, still you are shout slogans in favour of Pakistan. What would be said about this?”.

“The situation now is such that people need to get permission to hold Ganesha festival, there are limits on DJ music and time. Are we living in Pakistan or in India? They scream six times a day, but no one will say anything. We celebrate a festival once a year. I was once elected MLC as an independent as sometimes, our party doesn’t give tickets to people like us in order to promote a family, the children and grandchildren”, he remarked.

“If I am made Home minister, in just two months, I will bring about changes in Karnataka just like in Uttar Pradesh. The government has given guns in the hands of the police, but they cannot be used. Then, what is the need for it?” Yatnal asked.

Taking a dig at Congress leader D K Shivakumar, Yatnal said, “A Deputy Chief Minister is no constitutional authority. The CM and Home Minister should be present in the top police officers’ meeting, but the Deputy CM, who is Water Resources Minister, attends the meeting. He tells IPS officers that this is not a BJP government put on saffron shawls. Is it wrong that the police have respect for Hindus? The Home Minister also says that he will take strict measures. But no action was taken so far”, Yatnal lashed out against the government.
