KOPPAL: Amid talk of former BJP leader G Janardhana Reddy’s re-entry into politics and speculation that he may contest the 2023 Assembly polls from Gangavathi, the house-warming ceremony of his new house in Gangavathi was performed on Wednesday.
With Reddy away in New Delhi, his wife Aruna Lakshmi performed the rituals. Later, speaking to media persons, she said they had set up a house in Bengaluru, but since it is inconvenient for their supporters and fans, they constructed a house in Gangavathi.
“Now that Janardhan Reddy will be in Gangavathi, he will reveal his future plans himself when he comes next week. The Supreme Court had ordered that he should stay out of Ballari. We have conducted the house-warming ceremony as per our traditions. For the last 12 years, Janardhana Reddy has faced so many problems. But today, he has decided to dedicate himself to public service. I believe that people’s love and God’s blessings will be with him. The people are his family”, Aruna Lakshmi said.
During Reddy’s last visit to Gangavathi, some BJP leaders were also seen with him. However, none of them were present for the house-warming ceremony. Only a handful of guests were present.
Aruna Lakshmi arrived in Gangavathi in a Range Rover belonging to B Sriramulu (KA 52 P 5555) amid talk of a rough patch relations between Janardhana Reddy and Sriramulu. The SUV had a legislators pass stuck on the windshield with the driver quickly removed it on spotting media persons.
