KOPPAL : Three months after announcing the launch of his Kalyana Rajya Pragathi Party (KRPP), former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhana Reddy on Monday unveiled the ‘football’ as the party symbol.
He also released the election manifesto on the occasion and confirmed his candidature from Gangavathi in Koppal district, and that of his wife Aruna Lakshmi from Ballari city Assembly segment.
Reddy announced the first list of candidates for 10 other constituencies. They are Mahesh from Hiriyur, Srikanth Bandi from Nagathana, Mallikarjuna Nekkanti from Sindhanur, Nagendra Neralekunte from Pavagada, Mehaboob from Indi, Lallesh Reddy from Sedam, Arekere Krishna Reddy from Bagepalli, Bhima Shankar Patil from Bidar South, Darappa Nayaka from Siruguppa, and Dr Charul from Kanakagiri.
Addressing a press conference, Reddy said, “The next list of 19 candidates will be announced within a week or in 10 days. The party activities are going in full swing in more than 50 constituencies. I have confidence in winning the upcoming Assembly election”.

“I have personally seen the problems in villages after visiting 1,050 villages in Ballari. I believe people have faith in me and they are voluntarily coming forward to support us. Our party workers are actively working in all 15 districts”.
In its manifesto, the KRPP has promised the Basaveshwara Raitha scheme project for farmers, Rs 1,500 every year for below poverty line families, setting up of Basaveshwara Raitha Bharavase Kendra in every village for supplying compost, seeds and consultation. The manifesto also says every taluk should have a multi-speciality hospital under private participation. The popular Vajpayee Arogyashree Yojana will be relaunched with name ‘Basaveshwara Arogyashree’ scheme, 9 hours of continuous free power supply for farmers every day, zero interest on loan up to Rs 10 lakh for self-help groups among other programmes.
