MANDYA: A newly-married man died two days after his wedding after suffering a massive heart attack in Bengaluru town, on Tuesday evening. The deceased Shashank (28) was working with an IT firm in Bengaluru and hailed from KR Pet town in the district. The last rites were conducted on Wednesday at his hometown.
On the day of his wedding at a private resort in Mysuru on Sunday, Shashank had developed slight fever and had taken an injection. On Tuesday evening, Shashank, who was in Bengaluru, felt pain in the chest and by the time his parents could reach him to a hospital, he had died.
Shashank had fallen in love with his colleague Ashnara, who hails from Jharkhand and the couple had got married in a traditional manner. His father K C Manjunath said, “He was healthy and the wedding was organised at a resort in Mysuru. He had developed slight fever and had taken an injection in Bengaluru. He was alright even on Tuesday afternoon, but around 7 pm, he complained of chest pain and we rushed in to Cauvery Hospital near HSR Layout, but he did not survive”.

One of his friends, Dr Karthik, said, “None of us expected this. The reception was held on Saturday and the wedding was on Sunday in a grand manner. On the day of the marriage too, he had complained of fever and feeling weak and we had advised him to see a doctor. We can’t digest that he is no more”.
