CHAMARAJANAGAR: A civet cat which had got injured, probably by some other animal, was rescued by villagers after it came to a temple at Santhemarahalli in the taluk on Wednesday.
The civet cat is on the verge of extinction. The injured cat somehow made its way to the Mahadeshwara temple in the village. Upon noticing it, devotees, who were surprised on seeing the uncommon animal, informed snake expert Snake Mahesh.
Mahesh, who rushed to the temple, provided necessary attention to the civet cat which was unconscious. Once it recovered, Mahesh released it safely.
