Indian smooth-coated Otters spotted in Arkavathi river

RAMANAGARA: In a rare sighting, a group of smooth-coated otters were sighted in the Arkavathi river near Sugganahalli bridge.

The smooth-coated otters were sighted for the first time in Ramanagara district. Locals suggested that it might have surfaced as the lakes overflowed due to rains. Around six smooth-coated otters were found playing on the river banks.

 

The villagers were amused to see the rare sighting of the otters. During the rainy season, the otters might have come to Manchanabele Dam. The locals captured the rare sight on their mobile phones and shared it on social media.
